This is by far a simpler process than cleaning and preparing Alaska Razor Clams.  Here, the best method we’ve found is to pour 2 cups of corn meal into a bucket of steamer clams covered in the salt water from whence they came.  The clams will simply ingest the corn meal and expel it along with the sand that’s inside of them.  From that point, simply steam the clams in olive oil or butter, garlic, white wine, shallots or onions, mushrooms, herbs, vegetables or about anything you’d like to impart flavor on the clams from.

Bon appetit!
