The girl who taught me to fish salmon, taught me once again! Nice way to kick off the 2026 season with a beauty of a Sockeye girl-fish caught by my beautiful-girl. Of course, she has a big advantage. My girl ties her own flies — the Salmon Stryker — and when she tied it on THIS salmon couldn’t resist! We were just enjoying a little sun and a midday break when she quietly cast a couple times into the Kenai off her favorite rock and hooked this dime bright gem. We had dinner plans, but changed them. Cajun Salmon, Salmon Ribs & Salmon Butter to kick off the season. I say yum.
